next up on deep vibes comes sascha dive with his killer remixes of matthew dears >little people (black city)<. originally released on spectral sound (spc 101) as a digital-only package a vinyl edition had to follow due to public demand. for maximum sound quality the 20 minute version got shortened to a 15 minute >vinyl cut< (a1), while the >dub remix< comes in its original form on the flip-side (b1). sascha dive and matthew dear met on the road a few years back. in 2008 matthew dear featured a remix by the deep vibes boss on his watergate mix-compliation. when they played together in munich in august 2010 dear asked dive, if he wanted to do a remix for his upcoming album. the only condition dear asked him for was that it had to be the wildest and most crazy remix that dive could possibly do. little people (black city) is the probably strongest song of matthew dears recently released album black city. sascha dives remixes are on heavy rotation and played by a wide range of djs. make sure you get this joint in the box!

hulk is a collaboration of claw & richie august, two creative minds that share a similar production style and enthusiasm for heavy bass driven music. since the inception, hulk has been catching the eyes and ears of artists such as the glitch mob, dieselboy, reid speed, reso, the gaslamp killer, high rankin, iwrestledabearonce and dj lord of public enemy, among others. after catching the ear of juan basshead who had to sign them!

produced in 2004, this ep marks an essential shift in the production of stefan goldmann to his modus operandi as a dedicated innovator. he had adapted the barricade guise to induce some serious deviations into the techno realm. yet, heads werent ready and he simply continued under his real name with his major breakthrough works: perlons blood ep and the legendary sleepy hollow tune. hidden from the public, aleko and frantic had built a prototypic aesthetic of rough, concrete-space sounds - reduced dark, metallic percussion grooves, spring reverbs and degraded post-acidic synths. you name it where you heard this sound years later. its revealing how far ahead these tunes were at the time of their creation. they sound more now than many current tracks. aleko is the 4/4 techno version of this soundset, locked-in clonk patterns built around a nitrous bassline. frantic could be a future development to todays dubstep, if it wasnt its actual historic predecessor. add the schizophrenic bass excursion heliotrope and you have a package of painstaking relevance. back then the a&rs simply didnt get it - thats why it took 6 years and the formation of victoriaville to finally bring these gems to light

bergerac is the new record label set up by uk producer and dj red rack’em (aka danny berman) to showcase the more dancefloor end of his music productions. danny is well known for his wonky disco outings as hot coins on tirk and also his deep as hell beatdown house on untracked. his style of production and djing have recently taken a slightly more banging angle due to the influence of larger scale festival gigs such as glastonbury, snowbombing and the big chill. so it seemed like the perfect time to start a label focussing on house and techno for the more discerning dancefloor. the label artwork will feature bespoke illustrations from german artist silke eiselt of all the houses danny has lived in chronologically. how much more fucking house can you get than that? how i program is a raw, heads down, whacked out banger, which straddles the wafer thin divide between house and techno with aplomb. with a massive loud donking bass noise, seedy late night atmosphere and danny shouting about how he programs his shit - this is some freaky deaky peak time business. next up is bonn, a warm crackly rhodes driven halcyon house moment, which evokes the slightly majestic and nostalgic vibe of people dancing alone together in a hot room at the end of the night. cheering sourced directly from bonn in 1982 mixes with naive keywork and distant female chants the first bergerac ep closes with it happens to us all, which could be an ode to prematurely greying men, the onset of senility or occasional farting in public places. its definitely a prime slice of wrong house with some seriously french hi hats and dubbed out bassline action though. yes, its more syncopated than an exploding castanet factory but thats how we like that kind of funk

the amiably deranged erdbeerschnitzel, alias the dark side of the meat is called tim keiling, half of whose life has been spent making music. with his self-distributed album pathetik party, dispersed among an inhibited, then startled public in free download grab bags,he demonstrated the lavish, unrestrained use of the musical propeller, drawing on influences from drum&bass, elektro, breakbeat, hip hop, techno, deep house & disco.

space junky is the track that first brought bosco delrey to public attention, landing him pieces on the fader, rcrdlbl and elsewhere. it features his typical excess of influences- semi-psychedelic guitars, bedroom soul hooks, splurting dancehall reggae basslines- anchored down by solid songwriting and lyrics. it s a weirdly great combination that made us think this guy might be on to something. my my racecar is harder to pin down, but no less intriguing with a chopped up guitar lead, mouth pop rhythm section and zipping bass. the drop the lime influence shines on these two tracks, lending heavy bass, sound effects and making everything crispy.

their album is not about breaking barriers, but it is their own little twisted version of what they call techno. for yotoko techno can be heard in everything, so as such it is all techno. domu and shifty are influenced by lots of different stuff, soul, jazz, disco, hip hop, techno, some old break beat, new broken stuff.. as well 20 pence mad charity shop finds.. the album is about yotoko making music they think is cool and realizing that all this music is the same no matter what the bpm or groove.

oslo greeted this time with two new artists in the family. first, massimo di lena, a young producer from naples, who was talking to his groovy sound even from itself, and on the other side saac, an artist combo.
>delirous< on the a side of massimo di lena is a classic house piece in which the name is program! the public is enthusiastically kept in the clutches of this hypno track. saac gives us on the b side >crystal< - a special kind of house tool, driving and groovie.

you may not have heard so much from andre (aka &me) so far. instead of the flash and glitter associated with most of his producer colleagues, hes preferred to stay in the shadows, co-producing and ghost writing for artists like dj hell and terranova. now after putting out his first solo single on keinemusik, which was supported by all the key players (front room label boss jesse rose, luke solomon, gabriel ananda, danny tenaglia and dubfire plus many more) &me is finally ready to go public as they say. he may have taken some time to figure out his own style of blending techno and house music but now hes out theres really no escape. with a name like an attention deficit childs mantra its a wonder he stayed in so long. the on ep is an excursion into the type of techno dusted pulsating minimal house that has been so big for artists like luciano esse and arnaud le texier and which is heard on heavy rotation in berlin meccas like bar25. with a side on ever present digital squelches (reminiscent of a rolf harrris style wobble board) are laid over shakers, stripped-back beat and the familiar on vocal. its not hard to understand why tiefschwarz have been rinsing it for quite some time now as a huge afterhours groover. b side talking days, swimming in lush deep techno elements, weaves through more melodic territory but is no less infectious

there seems to be a bit a mystery around this record... and let some of this mystery remain. these two remixes of a fairly obscure song are pretty well known to the public, as for the last year or so they were regulars both in live sets of jacek sienkiewicz, and dj sets of ricardo villalobos. right now these two artists share credits to this obviously outstanding release. >pilgrim< is a vital, mesmerizing, uplifting piece of magic. one can assume, telling from the unusual, muezzin-like chanting, that it comes from some forgotten oriental library record... in fact, it was written in the seventies by a respected polish composer and extraordinary vocalist to the words of 19th century polish poet. now you can hear its modern, not to say futuristic, interpretation by two of the most forward-thinking electronic musicians from two different sides of the globe.

fist of facts began life in a basement studio on ludlow street, downtown manhattan, in the mid-80s. the bastard child of liquid liquids salvatore prinicipato & ken man caldeira (part of the liquid liquid extended family and original liquid idiot member) the band lasted nearly a decade during which they created a uniquely downtown new york sound. these tracks sat in storage on cassette tape for 25 years are a part of music history. none of them have ever been heard by the public and it will be released as a hand numbered, 4 colour sleeve limited to 500 12 inches.

when he isnt busy touring and recording with various artists as a session drummer (most recently with one beyonce knowles) guillaume jambel aka giom djs and produces deep house music. with only a handful of releases and remixes under his belt on labels such as amenti music, black cherry, tango, eight tracks and aroma its obvious that he is eager not too to spread himself too thinly. this makes us even more privileged to get him onto ornate music. and he certainly doesnt disappoint on blue matter ep which kicks of with bring down the walls a deep house disco builder promoting us to... you guessed it bring down the walls. with a metro area style bass line, warm keys and popping percussion this is bound to make you do exactly thatàin fact it should probably come with a public health warning. i know you were right, probably not something we say very often but here giom says it like he means with a tough kick drum, sweet seductive female vocal, bubbling bassline and a whole heap of other good stuff thrown into the mixer. this phat slab of deep house will brighten up the cloudiest of days, have a listen im sure you ll agree. hailing from brighton c soul are magnus asberg (head honcho of on the house records) and jimmy day. they have appeared on labels such as diy discs, suspect package and have also collaborated with house music legend robert owens on german label plastic city. for c souls on the house remix of i know you were right they strip it right down to the bone and produce a haunting, electronic house music rework. you know we were right!

moody moon e.p ( spagh records) spagh records is an electronic music label which concentrates its energy on techno, house and electro. created in 2005, spagh records wants to follow the way of authenticity and eclectism. after being well received by the public, the first e.p “dozen lives” was notably playlisted by artists such as dave clarke, laurent garnier, dj 3000 and james penninghton. the label spagh records is now releasing its second ep. in this second publication, the label shows another facet of their style angling towards deep techno. the ep, aptly titled “moody moon” and produced by hip-j, is a surprising and bewitching creation that draws the listener in for an aural expedition with every play, plunging to the heart of techno, weird and hazy, as melodic as it is stirring. his latest e.p has already received good feedbacks and is now being played by dj chloé (kill the dj) and toni vokado (electric avenue, kodiara records).
